van Aaken Developments Ltd., was formed in August 1992 in Crowthorne,
Berkshire, U.K. as a global aftermarket supplier of automotive
enhancement products including Performance Modules, many of which
have been sold in the U.S. for years under various brands.
In 2002, Toyota approached can Aaken Developments Ltd. to design
and manufacture OEM tuning products for their vehicles with turbo
diesel engines manufactured and sold in Europe. The were also
approached by Volvo to develope an ECU performance module for
fire engines with a volvo engine. The company's innovative products
greatly improved horespower, torque and fuel efficiency, while
working to maintain emission standards. In September 2005, van
Aaken Developments opened it's U.S. company, van Aaken Developments
USA LLC, and made a serious commitment to market their performance
modules, named the SmartBox, to the North American turbo diesel
enthusiasts.
The van Aaken SmartBox™ plug-in
module provides optimum performance, response and fuel efficiency;
all while working to maintain emissions. Designed specifically
for U.S. manufactured diesel engines: GM Duramax, Dodge Cummins
and Ford Power Stroke, the SmartBOX is also available for the
Jeep Liberty engine and for Dodge and Freightliner Sprinter
vans as well as popular, European manufactured turbo diesel
passenger cars including Mercedes Benz, and Volkswagen.
