K1500HD / K2500HD / K2500 Non HD / K2500 Suburban / Avalanche
Not to be outdone by Ford's Super Duty, GM completely redesigned their ¾ and 1 ton platform in 2001 with a new line of HD trucks. Not only does the HD have new power plant options, such as the 8.1 liter gas motor or the Duramax diesel, the suspension received a full upgrade as well. Knowing that hardcore GM enthusiasts would embrace the new HD, Fabtech has stepped up to design and build two cutting edge HD systems.
HD System Features:
- Allows for use of stock tires & wheels
- No front driveshaft change required on 6" system
- High arch ¼" thick crossmembers
- Includes ¼" thick steel differential skid plate
- Tubular braces connect the front and rear crossmembers together
- Tubular impact struts included
- One piece torsion bar mounts
- Increased caster for more control with oversized tires
- Retains factory steering centerlink & upper control arms on 6" System
- Tubular Upper Control Arms on 8" System
6" Performance Systems:
Use 315/75R16 tire w/16x8 wheels w/4 5/8" BS w/minor trimming
Use 315/70R17 tire w/17x8 wheels w/4 5/8" BS w/minor trimming
Use 325/65R18 tire w/18x9 wheels w/5 1/2" BS w/minor trimming
8" Performance Systems:
Use 37/12.50R17 tire w/17x9 wheels w/4 5/8" BS w/minor trimming
Use 355/65R18 tire w/18x9 wheels w/5 1/2" BS w/minor trimming
